as an avid nail polish enthusiast who is really picky about my nail polishes, i have to give mad props to whoever came up with the 1d nail polish

cost: $8 for all (pack of 5), $1.60 each
no swatches since ive only used one so far
9/10!

the brush was wider than essie and only slightly slimmer than OPI, formula was ace and was opaque in two coats sans bubbles or streaks, and the colors are true from bottle to dry. only criticism is that you can tell that they’ll get thick really quickly so you have to keep them sealed and roll them ‘round a few times.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you definitely know who One Direction is/are.

I’ve just been to a concert this past Friday, and let me tell you: definitely the night of my life, thus far. They’re absolutely perfect!

  • OPI - Dulce de Leche (of course)
  • Finger Paints - Paper Mache

[Also, my mom bought me 6 new nail polishes yesterday! 2 OPIs and 4 Essies! :’D Bless her.]

[[MORE]]As you can see, these are called “Pokemon, revisited.”
A little over a year ago, back when I started getting nail polish, I did a really dumb thing. I dove straight into the wonderful world of nail art. No swatches or shaping or filing went down beforehand, I literally just went straight for it. The first two things I did were Pokemon nails as seen here and here and I just wanted to try my hand again, a year later, to see if I’ve improved at all with these godforsaken freehands. So, that’s all. Just a little comparison, and I think I’ve gotten heaps better since my first go.

The design itself was taken from THIS post by Xinyi over at Chibi Nails, so just throwing out her well-deserved credit for that before anything else!
But, yeah. This is my take on these tribal-esque nails, and I think they turned out pretty well. Sadly, they’re really bubbly, but I haven’t figured out how to prevent that yet. Sigh. To Google I go.
Again, I’m pretty content with how these turned out for my first try at anything like these.

So I attempted gradient/ombre nails with… a kitchen sponge. Yeah, it didn’t turn out too well. I never thought the quality of my nails would suffer so much for my not having any make up sponges. Sad, sad life.

  • OPI - Dulce de Leche
  • ORLY - Mind’s Eye

wow, i havent posted in FOREVER

anyway, this was just a simple/quick glitter kind of ombre

Also, this was taken after a week of having it on, hence the distance from my (neglected D:) cuticles.

  • ORLY Mind’s Eye (<3)
  • Nabi New Gold Pearl
  • OPI Quick Dry TC

I bought a new bottle of OPI Dulce de Leche the other day and just got around to using it, but let me tell you, I am SO angry!

The formula was TERRIBLE. It was watery and took 3 coats to cover! My last bottle only needed one!

:(
